What is a Medical Transcriptionist?

A medical transcriptionist is the one who converts medical dictations to accurate medical reports for doctors and other healthcare professionals. A medical transcriptionists in most cases are medical language experts who knows how to interpret technical medical information supplied by physicians.

They know a great deal about terminologies about diseases, anatomy, pathology, physiology, laboratory and pharmaceutical terms, and other related medical words and phrases.

A medical transcriptionist is a word processing expert, he/ she keyboards or types in the health records of patients accurately, and when there is a report that needs to be double checked or to be flag he/ she does not hesitate to report it to the physician, or the professionals who will be affected by the transcription.
